Ilka and Mateus are a Brazilian couple who celebrated their 10 year anniversary by renewing their vows in Alentejo, Portugal.
They went for a macramé vow renewal, deciding to add a beautiful macramé artwork done by Woolland, that set a beautiful backdrop on what was to become a fascinating day!
Honestly, the theme of a macramé vow renewal couldn’t be more appropriate. You get macramé by knotting strings, they become intertwine thus creating amazing decorative patterns. Ilka and Mateus have also become intertwined in life, connected, together, in love.

It’s not every day that you meet a couple willing to put so much effort into celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary. Ilka and Mateus, together with the wedding planners from Como Branco Wedding Concept, thought about every single detail, keeping it simple and very intimate. They got inspired by Alentejo and its breathtaking landscapes, full of dry colors and a boho vibe.
Alentejo is situated in the south of Portugal, it is reminiscent of the desert, conveying the same type of dry atmosphere, that, somehow, translates into a very peaceful mood. it’s almost as if, when in Alentejo, time just stops and you’re allowed to just be.

The venue they choose was absolutely perfect. It is called Torre de Palma. This outstanding property is a wine hotel located in Monforte, an area in the Alentejo interior. Torre de Palma takes pride in it’s Roman roots, going back to 1338. Above all, it is rich in the Alentejo traditions. There you can experience the winemaking process or go for a horseback ride! It is as relaxed and mellow as Alentejo can be!
We felt privileged to be a part of this event. The love and connection of Ilka and Mateus was palpable, they have such a nice energy, they are kind and most of all you can feel their love for each other!

Ilka and Mateus 10 year vow renewal was very important to them, it was a dream they desired to see come to life. They wanted this macramé vow renewal to be about family. Ten years have passed since their marriage, and their love has produced two absolutely adorable children. A lot more than a celebration of their love, this time around, their 10-year vow renewal, was all about sharing, their past, the present and their future, together, as a family!
Having a vow renewal is an affirmation of love, getting to do it in the presence of your children is a privilege. Ilka and Mateus wanted this occasion to be meaningful, not just for them, but also for their children. The kids took part in the ceremony, looking absolutely happy. It was wonderful to see their expressions looking at their mom and dad, moments of pure bliss.

A vow renewal is a second celebration experience, the couple has already been through all that involves planning a wedding, meaning that, for this one, they were no longer diving in the unknown! This makes a vow renewal a lot more stress-free, relaxed, choices are easier to make and decisions come naturally!
This easygoing couple wanted their children to take part in the ceremony, while their closest family and friends watched over them, spreading happiness and love. Ilka and Mateus added a very spiritual and emotional dimension to the ceremony when they invited all guests to join them in a circle for a prayer. Then all of the couples who were there also exchanged their vows again! It doesn’t get more tender than this! This explosion of affection nearly brought us to tears!
While the guests were enjoying a nice cocktail by the pool, Ilka, Mateus and their children, were lucky to experience a magic Alentejo’s sunset. We, Happy Together, along with the amazing photographer Adriana Morais, knew that the setting was absolutely perfect to capture the most heartfelt family images. And, we were spot on! We are sure these images will be enjoyed by the family for years to come, has a tender memory of this 10-year vow renewal.

Dinner was served outside in a family style long table, decorated with candles, the centerpieces were beautifully natural: clear glass bottles with water and leaves, precious details, like name tags handwritten directly in camelia leaves. The ingredients for a perfect summer night were prepared: a clear Alentejo sky, a family celebration, good mood and a ton of love! A marvelous ending to a memorable day!
For us, as videographers, this 10-year vow renewal in the beautiful Alentejo made our work so easy, everything ran so smoothly, every set was so cinematic and dreamy!

Ilka and Mateus had a very special, intimate, tender day, that they were able to share with the people they love the most. This is really all that we want out of life, to love and be loved.
Ilka and Mateus choose the most touching song to make their and their children’s entrance to the ceremony, it goes like this: “Love you forever and forever, Love you with all my heart, Love you whenever, we’re together, Love you when we’re apart”. This is I Will, by the Beatles. We couldn’t, even if we’ve tried, think of a better song to capture all that was felt throughout that day. For Ilka and Mateus these were just the first 10 years, we know these two will be together forever!

A Ilka e o Mateus são um casal brasileiro que decidiu renovar os seus votos no 10º aniversário de casamento no Alentejo, Portugal.
Escolheram uma fascinante obra de arte em macramé, feita pelo atelier Woolland, que criou um cenário magnífico, para, o que se tornaria um dia fascinante!
Sinceramente, o tema da renovação de votos macramé não podia ser mais apropriado. O macramé cria-se ao entrelaçar fio, obtendo incríveis padrões decorativos. A Ilka e o Mateus também se entrelaçaram na vida, unidos, ligados, em amor!

Não é todos os dias que se conhece um casal disposto a tanto esforço para a celebração do 10º aniversário de casamento. A Ilka e o Mateus, juntamente com os wedding planners (organizadores de casamento) Como Branco Wedding Concept, pensaram em todos os pormenores, mantendo a decoração simples, criaram uma atmosfera intimista e relaxada. Beberam inspiração do Alentejo e das suas paisagens deslumbrantes, cheias de cores secas e vibe boémio.
O Alentejo situa-se no sul de Portugal. Tem laivos de deserto, a mesma sensação seca, que, de alguma forma, torna o ambiente muito pacífico e sossegado. É quase como se, quando no Alentejo, o tempo parasse e te permitas simplesmente ser!

O local escolhido para esta renovação de votos é absolutamente perfeito, chama-se de Torre de Palma, um wine hotel localizado em Monforte, uma área no interior do Alentejo. O Torre de Palma orgulha-se das suas raízes romanas, remontando a 1338. É um local rico em tradições alentejanas, onde pode experimentar todo o que envolve o processo vinícola, ou, porque não, passear a cavalo! È tão descontraído como só o Alentejo sabe ser!
Sentimo-nos uns privilegiados por fazer parte desta celebração. O amor e união da Ilka e do Mateus é palpável, têm uma energia fabulosa, gentileza e uma admiração mútua enternecedora.

Para a Ilka e o Mateus a renovação de votos no 10º aniversário de casamento, foi um sonho tornado realidade. Desejavam que esta renovação de votos macramé fosse sobre família. Dez anos passados sobre o dia do casamento, e o amor entre ambos produziu duas crianças absolutamente adoráveis. Muito mais do que uma celebração do seu amor, desta vez, a renovação de votos de 10 anos foi sobre compartilhar, o passado, o presente, o futuro, juntos, como uma família!
Renovar votos é uma afirmação de amor, fazê-lo na presença dos filhos, torna tudo bem mais especial. A Ilka e o Mateus queriam que esta ocasião fosse significativa, não apenas para eles, mas também para os filhos. As crianças fizeram parte da cerimónia.
Absolutamente radiantes, foi maravilhoso ver as expressões deles a olhar para os pais, momentos de pura felicidade!

A renovação de votos é uma segunda experiência de celebração, o casal já passou por tudo o que envolve planear um casamento, o que implica e o trabalho que daí advém. Desta vez, já não estão a mergulhar no desconhecido! Isto torna a renovação de votos muito menos stressante. Livres de stress e relaxados, as escolhas são mais fáceis de fazer e as decisões surgem naturalmente!
Este casal descontraído, queria que os filhos participassem na cerimónia, enquanto a família e amigos mais próximos observavam comovidos, perpetuando felicidade e amor! Intimidade foi ,de facto, a palavra de ordem nesta renovação de votos. A cerimónia foi cheia de emoção, sob o pôr-do-sol mais perfeito do Alentejo, entre oliveiras e a incrível obra de macramé. Parecia que os planetas se tinham alinhado para a Ilka, o Mateus e a sua família.

Tudo correu conforme planeado, sem ser sequer necessário algum esforço, naturalmente e sem artifícios. A Ilka e o Mateus juntaram uma dimensão muito espiritual e emotiva à cerimónia, quando chamaram todos os convidados a juntarem-se a eles num círculo para uma oração. Depois, todos os casais presentes, trocaram também votos outra vez! Impossível algo mais terno e profundo. Vamos ter de confessar, que ficamos com uma lágrima no canto do olho!
Enquanto os convidados desfrutavam de um agradável cocktail à beira da piscina, Ilka, Mateus e a sua prole, tiveram a sorte de experienciar um mágico pôr-do-sol alentejano. Nós, happy together, juntamente com a incrível fotógrafa Adriana Morais, sabíamos que o cenário era absolutamente perfeito para capturar as mais magníficas e sinceras imagens, desta encantadora família de 4. E acertamos em cheio! Ficarão para sempre com uma lembrança terna, deste dia memorável, este aniversário de 10 anos de casamento, que se tornou na renovação de um amor intenso que se multiplicou!

O jantar foi servido numa mesa longa, de estilo familiar,decorada com velas, os centros de mesa eram lindamente naturais: garrafas de vidro transparente com água e folhas, e detalhes atenciosos, como marcadores manuscritos diretamente em folhas de camélia. Os ingredientes para uma perfeita noite de verão estavam preparados: um claro céu Alentejano, uma festa familiar, bom humor e muito amor! Um final maravilhoso para um dia inesquecível!
Para nós, como videógrafos, esta renovação de 10 anos no nosso belo Alentejo, tornou o nosso trabalho fácil, tudo correu suavemente. O cenário era tão cinematográfico e idílico! A Ilka e o Mateus tiveram um dia muito especial, íntimo e afetuoso, que compartilharam com as pessoas que mais amam. Isto é, sem dúvida, tudo o que queremos na vida, amar e ser amado. A

Ilka e o Mateus escolheram uma música muito comovente para fazer a entrada deles e dos filhos na cerimónia. E diz assim: “Love you forever and forever, Love you with all my heart, Love you whenever, we’re together, Love you when we’re apart.” dos Beatles. Nós não conseguíamos, mesmo se tentássemos, pensar numa música melhor para capturar tudo o que foi sentido naquele dia. Para a Ilka e o Mateus estes foram apenas os primeiros 10 anos, sabemos que estes dois estarão juntos para sempre!
