In this editorial, we wanted to show why a Destination Wedding in Portugal is now a first-row contender in the destination wedding market. Even though this is an Elopement Wedding editorial we choose to work with a real couple, we will call them Alexa and Noah. Make no mistake, these feelings cannot be disguised, when it comes to love and complicity nothing beats the real deal! We wanted to capture the couple’s soul and share feelings by juggling between tenderness, softness and sparkling. Elopement Wedding is all about the two and what’s in between. This is how the Atelier My Fancy Wedding came up with the theme “Aloha meets the moon” and made it happen. This  theme is a perfect example of the essence of an Elopement Wedding and a Modern Aloha Wedding. This editorial is all about human relations and real sensations, and this is why we love it.

Modern Aloha Wedding and the moon. Close your eyes, think about Hawaii, think about the moon, what did you come up with? In Frank Sinatra‘s words “Fly me to the moon, let me play among the stars, let me see what spring is like”. We “flown” this couple to Portugal, to create a perfect destination wedding. We found the moon in a perfect natural setting of white sand. When we think about the moon, we envision something harsh and rough, but the truth is that there is something very romantic and singular about it, it is actually perfect to elope to the moon! Two people in love, sharing their special day with one another in a moment of pure intimacy. The moon aspect of the scenery is pure perfection, the sandy white atmosphere has an amazing relation with what an elopement wedding is supposed to be.

Creating a Modern Aloha Wedding was, in fact, an incredible and challenging theme to explore. We already had the moon, now we just needed to bring aloha to it! Achieving aloha has everything to do with green, bringing a tropical atmosphere to a moon-like environment.

Aloha is a word, a Hawaiin word, that means hello, it is used as a salutation, if you speak with a native Hawaiin he will tell you how aloha is so much more than a mere word. Aloha spirit is a lifestyle that encapsulates acceptance, blessing everything and everyone. With this in mind, we set out to create an atmosphere that translated this vision of love, tenderness, intimacy, respect and last but not least funa , a true Modern Aloha Wedding!

When opting with a tropical vibe theme, colour is of the most importance. It was paramount to achieve a juxtaposition between the white sands and rocks that gave the moon like atmosphere, with colourful, bright, fresh and young styling and decoration that not only brought aloha to the moon but also reflected the couple’s taste, thus creating a true Modern Aloha Wedding.

The tropical feel of this elopement wedding in Portugal was achieved by simple styling with bursts of colour. If you take a good look at Noah you will find a fun pineapple pin in his shirt, Alexa’s bouquet as a beautiful simplicity to it, almost wild looking, with a range of different leaves with beautiful colourful flowers peeping through. Both bride and groom were styled very fresh and simple to convey the laidback feel that is synonymous with the aloha spirit. No modern aloha wedding is complete without that natural and fresh addition that is fruit! The choice of fruit is much more than a food preference, it is a design statement, that truly embodies the whole feel of this theme.

We really want couples to be happy together, and an elopement wedding is undoubtedly a very singular and intimate way to start your life together and let us face it if you are thinking about eloping you cannot neglect the importance of good quality wedding videography. Modern Aloha Wedding e a lua. Fechem os olhos, pensem no Havaí, pense na lua, o que vêem? O que sentem? Este casal escolheu um Destination Wedding em Portugal e o objectivo era criar um Elopement Wedding perfeito. Encontramos a lua  num cenário natural de perfeita areia branca. Quando pensamos sobre a lua, imaginamos algo duro, áspero e monocromático, mas a verdade é que há algo muito romântico e singular na simplicidade da lua que se traduz como ideal num elopement wedding, em que a palavra de ordem é paz e serenidade para ser experienciada a dois. Era primordial alcançar uma justaposição entre as areias brancas e as rochas que conferiam uma  atmosfera lunar, com um estilo e decoração coloridos, brilhantes, frescos e jovens que não só levavam aloha à lua, mas também refletiam o gosto do casal, criando assim um verdadeiro Modern Aloha Wedding!

A sensação tropical deste destination wedding in Portugal foi conseguida através de um estilo simples com explosões de cor. Se olhar atentamente para o Noah, encontrará um divertido alfinete de ananás colocado na sua camisa, o bouquet da noiva, Alexa é de uma bonita simplicidade, quase selvagem, com uma gama de diferentes folhas, onde aqui e ali espreitam belas e coloridas flores.
