Traveling is one of our favorite things to do. Getting to now the small differences between cities and cultures makes us so respectful and thankful of all the good things we have in our lives. Our work is a a labour of passion. We do what we love and always with our hearts to guide us. The possibility to mix our passion for what we work with along with traveling is truly something special. Doing a Travel film and a road trip in Scotland sounds perfect to us.

This adventure with Melissa and Nathan was a whole new level for us and we couldn’t be happier with how it worked out. Inspired is just not enough to describe how we felt after this adventure. We felt rebuilt and recharged. This one will definitely stay with us for a long long time.

It all started with Melissa and Nathan’s wedding. They got married last year in Portugal and we were the lucky ones who did their wedding video.
As time went by, after a few formal and non formal meetings and/or gatherings we had with them, we just kept in contact.

One day, while we were in Stockholm, Nathan sent us a mysterious email saying that he had a super secret project. He didn’t say much. Melissa couldn’t know anything. And it  ​said​ “Are you free (to work) around April 9th next year?”.

On the next email he told us it was their 6th Anniversary. And he wanted to do a road trip. 10 days long. In Switzerland, Sweden, Scotland and Portugal. We would fly from city to city and then have 6 days of Road trip on Scotland. In the end we would do their travel film.
He told us: “I can give her another special ring, or some object… but this time I want to do something memorable, something that we will remember for the rest of our lives. And I want you guys to do our Travel Film!”

The plan was truly spectacular. Each step, each city, each flight, would be a complete surprise for Melissa. All of the places had specific meanings. Geneva is where they live, Stockholm is where they spend their first vacations, Scotland is a place they never visited but always wanted to go and Lisbon is where they got married.

This idea, this plan, inspired us from day one. It was romantic and from the heart. It really spoke to us. Travel and Love.

First stop: Geneva.
The journey starts. A very quick stop and the starting point for all of this experience.
For Melissa this was the first surprise. She didn’t knew anything about this epic plan. So when she saw us she was in shock! “What are you guys doing here?” A good mix of happiness and shock.
Geneva was a big surprise to us, it’s such a quiet town, with lots of greens and wonderful buildings (this 1930 legendary Le Corbusier building <3). The jet D’Eau is so much bigger then we thought.

Second stop: Stockholm.
Nathan is half Swedish half Swiss, so they used to go to Stockholm to spend some holidays in the first year they met. They went around Gröna Lund park, to the best photography museum called Fotografiska (we go there every time we have the chance) and just walk around the city. Oh Stockholm. We love you so much! <3

Third stop: Scotland.
The biggest part of the trip. 6 days on the roads of Scotland.
This country has so much character. Nature is harsh here. Raining and cloudy most of the times. But this is Scotland. It’s supposed to be like this. We loved every second of this road trip in Scotland.
Melissa loves to read, actually she has a super cool Instagram account (in French only) @mel_lit_ca. One of her favorite literature genres is fantasy and of course a lot of stories she reads take place in the Scottish Highlands and are based on Scottish folklore stories.
This is where Nathan wanted to take Melissa. To a country she had never visited and always wanted to. Romantic just isn’t enough. This guy is really what being romantic IS!
We went to lots of iconic places such as Old Man of Storr, Doune Castle, Fairy Glen, Neist point lighthouse, etc.
When this road trip in Scotland was over, there was still one more surprise for Melissa.

Last stop: Lisbon.
Lisbon is our town, the city we love to live in and for Melissa and Nathan Lisbon is where they got married (Pestana Palace).
Coming back to where they got married was such a beautiful way to finish this journey and this travel film.

To finish this special and epic present Nathan prepared to his newly wife, we suggest them to take a special photo.
Right next to our office in Lisbon there is this magical place where you can take unique portraits.
This studio is called SilverBox and they work with a XIX century photography technique and the results are brilliant!!
1 unique photo on a metal support! No film, no copies! Just 1 great photo!

We thought this experience would be the perfect way to end their unique travel film.
They loved the idea and in the end, they were stunned with the portrait.

For us, this was one of our biggest adventure. (This past year was amazing and we still have some pretty epic travel stories to tell you. So stay tuned).
This was something we’ve never dreamt of doing. But thanks to Nathan and his crazy romantic surprise, it happened. And we couldn’t be more thankful it did.

Melissa and Nathan: You guys are perfect for each other.
The time we spent with you both, almost 24h a day, we could see how much respect and love you feel for each other.
Nathan. Thank you for being so supportive and giving us all of your trust.
Melissa. Thank you for being so patient and kind to us, even when you were the only one not knowing the “big Plan”.

Viajar é uma das coisas que mais gostamos de fazer. Conhecer as pequenas diferenças entre as cidades e as culturas faz nos sentir um respeito tremendo e muito agradecidos por tudo o que temos nas nossas vidas. O nosso trabalho é feito com amor. Fazemos o que amamos com o coração cheio. A possibilidade de misturar as nossas paixão pelo trabalho com viagens é realmente muito especial. Fazer um Travel Film soa-nos perfeito.

Esta aventura com a Melissa e Nathan foi todo um novo nível de desafio para nós e não podíamos ficar mais felizes com o resultado final. “Inspirados” não chega para descrever o que sentimos depois desta aventura. Sentimo-nos reencontrados e recarregados. Esta experiência irá viver connosco por muito tempo.

Tudo começou com o casamento da Melissa e do Nathan. Eles casaram em 2016 em Portugal e nós fomos os sortudos que fizeram o wedding video.
Com o passar do tempo, depois de muitos encontros formais e informais com eles, fomos mantendo o contacto.

Um dia, enquanto estávamos em Estocolmo, o Nathan enviou-nos um e-mail misterioso a dizer que tinha um projecto super secreto. Não disse muito mais. A Melissa não poderia saber de nada. Perguntou ainda: “Vocês têm o dia 9 de Abril livre?”
No e-mail seguinte falou-nos que iriam celebrar o 6º aniversário. E que ele queria fazer uma road trip. 10 dias. Na Suíca, Suécia, Escócia and Portugal. Iríamos voar de cidade para cidade e depois passaríamos 6 dias numa road trip pela Escócia. No final, faríamos o travel film desta aventura.
Ele contou-nos: “Posso oferecer um anel especial, ou qualquer outro objecto… mas desta vez que fazer algo mais memorável, algo que para guardamos na memória para sempre. E quero que vocês façam o travel film.”

O plano era realmente espetacular. Cada passo, cada cidade, cada voo, seriam uma surpresa para a Melissa. Todos os lugares tinham significados especiais. Genebra é a cidade onde vivem, Estocolmo foi a cidade onde passaram as primeiras férias, a Escócia é um país que ambos não conheciam e Lisboa foi o lugar onde casaram.

Este ideia, este plano, inspirou-nos logo no primeiro momento. Era muito romântico e genuíno. Tocou-nos mesmo. Viagens e amor.

Primeira paragem: Genebra.
A grande viagem começa. Uma paragem muito rápida e o início de toda a aventura.
Para a Melissa foi a primeira surpresa. Ela não sabia mesmo nada sobre todo este plano épico. Então quando nos viu ficou em choque! “O que é que vocês estão aqui a fazer?” Uma boa mistura de felicidade e surpresa.
Genebra foi uma grande surpresa para nós, é uma cidade muito calma, com muitos espaços verdes e edifícios maravilhosos (vimos este edifício legendário de 1930 Le Corbusier ). O Jet d’Eau é muito maior do que pensávamos.

Segunda paragem: Estocolmo.
O Nathan é meio sueco e meio suíço, por isso Estocolmo foi o primeiro destino de férias do casal. Passearam perto do parque Gröna Lund , visitaram o melhor museu de fotografia, o Fotografiska (vamos lá sempre que podemos) e caminharam pela cidade. Oh Estocolmo, gostamos tanto de ti <3

Terceira paragem: Escócia.
A melhor parte da viagem. 6 dias pelas ruas da Escócia.
Este país tem tanta personalidade. A Natureza é grandiosa e muito selvagem. Chuva e nuvens na maioria do tempo. Mas é a Escócia, é suposto ser assim.
Adorámos cada segundo desta road trip na Escócia.
A Melissa adora ler e tem um conta no Instagram só dedicada aos livros que lê (escrito em francês), podem seguir @mel_lit_ca. Um dos género literários que mais aprecia são os livros de fantasia e claro que muitos que leu tinham lugar na Escócia, com fadas e com inspiração na mitologia escocesa.
Era aqui que o Nathan queria trazer a Melissa. Um país que nunca tinha visitado mas sempre quis fazê-lo. Romântico não é suficiente. Este rapaz é realmente a definição de romântico!
Passámos por vários lugares icónicos do país comoOld Man of Storr, Doune Castle, Fairy Glen, Neist point lighthouse, etc.
​Quando esta Road trip terminou, havia ainda uma surpresa para a Melissa.

Última paragem:Lisboa.
Lisboa é a nossa cidade, é a cidade que escolhemos para viver e também para a Melissa e para o Nathan tem um significado especial. É a cidade onde casaram (noPestana Palace).
Visitámos o Pestana Palace, o lugar onde celebraram o casamento para assim reviver aquele dia tão importante.

Para finalizar este presente tão especial que o Nathan preparou para a sua esposa, este Travel Film e esta grande aventura que foi a road trip na Escócia, nós sugerimos algo especial e único.

​Há muito tempo que conhecemos um lugar especial em Lisboa (muito próximo do nosso escritório) onde são feitos retratos únicos.
O estúdio chama-se SilverBox e aqui trabalham com uma técnica de fotografia do século XiX.
1 fotografia única em suporte de metal!! Sem película, sem cópias! Apenas 1 fotografia fantástica.

Pensámos que esta seria a melhor forma para terminar esta experiência, de uma forma única e original.
Claro que a Melissa e o Nathan adoraram a ideia e ficaram maravilhados com o retrato final.

Para nós esta experiência foi uma grande grande aventura.
(Este ano que passou tivemos algumas aventuras. Vamos partilhar tudo, por isso mantenham-se perto do nosso site.)
Foi algo que nunca tínhamos imaginado fazer. Mas graças as ideias “loucamente românticas” do Nathan, tudo aconteceu. E não podíamos estar mais agradecidos por isso.

Melissa e Nathan: vocês são perfeitos um para o outro.
No decorrer desta viagem, depois de passar quase 24 horas por dia convosco, conseguimos ver e sentir o respeito e amor que sentem um pelo outro.
Nathan, agradecemos o facto de confiares em nós a 100%.
Melissa, agradecemos teres sido tão paciente e querida connosco, mesmo sendo a única a não conhecer o “grande plano”.
